James Scurr

Founder and Managing Director

James founded CFI Finance in February 2014, building on his experience creating a successful franchise finance division for a publicly listed financier. His background includes nearly a decade as a multi-unit franchisee with companies including Boost Juice and Dreamy Donuts, giving him an acute understanding of franchise finance requirements. This hands-on business ownership experience directly informs how CFI Finance serves its customers.

Phil Chaplin

Chief Executive Officer

Phil has over 20 years' experience in banking and finance across Australia and New Zealand. His background encompasses all aspects of commercial lending, as well as M&A work within the financial services sector. He formerly chaired the Equipment Finance Council for the Australian Finance Industry Association and has built and managed finance companies for private equity investors, banks, and ASX-listed companies.

Dan Toms

National Sales Manager and Director

Dan heads the Sales and Marketing teams for CFI Finance, implementing strategic plans to ensure continued growth and service innovation. With extensive experience in the finance sector, he has worked with major Australian franchise systems supporting both franchisees and franchisors. He previously managed divisions for publicly listed finance companies and national supply chain organisations.

Toni-Anne Jones

General Manager — Contract Operations

Toni-Anne manages CFI Finance's Operations, drawing on her 15 years of experience in the Finance Industry. She won the prestigious Women in Leadership Australia scholarship in 2019. She combines expertise from larger-scale streamlining whilst maintaining the flexibility that a small business requires, gained across both global and local organisational settings.
